CSS displaying at top of page when clicking on Site Settings

This can happen when you have a site based on a template that contains custom CSS. The way to get round it is to reset the site’s AlternateHeader using PowerShell to a value of “”:

$web = Get-SPWeb “http://xxx/yyy”
$web.AlternateHeader

$web.AlternateHeader = “”

$web.Update()

Job done.
